History of Bracknell - Timeline
  10,000 BC Earliest known residents in the area - living at Amen Corner
    2,000 BC Caesar's Camp built
       923 AD Braccan Heal mentioned in a Saxon charter
     1463 Old Bracknell mentioned in a Goring charter
     1607 Old Brecknoll and New Brecknoll marked on Norden's map of the area
     1759 Turnpike Road from Virginia Water to Reading (now the A329)
     1845 Queen Victoria's coach changed horses at The Red Lion
     1856 Railway built from Ascot to Reading
     1860 Thomas Lawrence Brickworks opens
     1949 Bracknell designated a New Town
     1974 South Hill Park Arts Centre opened
     1982 Princess Square opened by H.R.H. Princess Anne
     2012 Olympic Torch passes through Bracknell
